Finally, we get to see some form of justice in the 7th Sky Production; Munafiq that had been garnering rave reviews because of its unique storyline. The world that revolved around Arman (Adeel Chaudhry) and her mother, Sabeeha Begum (Marina Khan) comes crashing down. In the last episode of Munafiq, we see the triumph of good over evil.

Arman was in captivity. All by himself with no possible escape, he reflects back on all that he has done wrong in his life, primarily to his loving and faithful ex-wife, Ujala (Fatima Effendi). The agony and pain are too much to take, and he risks his life by trying an improbable escape. The kidnappers show no mercy, and Arman dies a horrible and humbling death. It signifies that for every powerful man in the land, there is someone more powerful.

An unaware Sabeeha Begum pushes her party’s leader to take action against the man who had kidnapped her son. However, she is told in no uncertain terms that nothing will happen. Enraged, she resigns from her position and vows to join another party. Soon we get to see an agonizing moment where her strong exterior breaks, and we see a mother sob at the death of her son.

At this time, Hamza (Bilal Qureshi) tries to console her and hopes that she would now understand the pain of Ujala and give baby Affan back. However, despite Affan falling seriously sick, she refuses to do so. She still believes in her clout.

Sobia (Maryam Nafees), on the other hand, is inconsolable. However, her mother pushes her to lay a claim on the inheritance of her dead husband. We are told that she files a case for it and succeeds. Soon, the police also arrests Sabeeha Begum. She loses her land, her son and grandson in an instant. As for Ujala, she gets her baby back and is over the moon. She finally agrees to be with Hamza. They would start a happy life together as a family.

Eventually, this story was about ego and false bravado. It gives us the lesson that if at some point you have influence and power, be kind to other people. Because eventually, the universe has a way to make things equal. Munafiqat or manipulation to attain more power is like digging your own grave.
