These days dramas based on social issues are getting a lot of appreciation and hence, we see a lot of such dramas emerging these days. Darr Khuda Se by 7th Sky Entertainment is also a drama with a message, highlighting the issue of workplace harassment. Directed by Anjum Shehzad and produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, this drama marks the return of team Khaani. The drama started last week and introduced the characters to us along with setting the foundation of the story.

Last night’s episode began with the argument that was going on after Afreen’s brother saw her being dropped home by a male colleague. Afreen justifies her position in front of her family but her sister, who has become bitter after her unhappy past and her brother do not believe her. Her father, played by Qavi Khan is a refreshing character who stands by her daughter and trusts and supports her completely. Afreen, after being heart-broken by her brother and sister’s behavior, decides to resign from her job but his brother, who feels that this move will make him more burdened towards his family, and will not enable him to get married anytime soon, thinks of ways to make Afreen change her decision of resigning. Sana Javed is playing the role of Afreen with complete justice and nails all the expressions, making us feel for her difficulties.

On the other hand, there is Shahvaiz, played brilliantly by Imran Abbas, who is truly a womanizer. The manner in which he was seen getting close to his maid spoke volumes about his character and his intentions. While he poses to be a truly honest and loyal husband in front of his wife, he is nowhere near that. The way Imran Abbas has portrayed the antagonistic energy of his character is appealing.

Although the episode was good but slow-paced and there wasn’t any major development in the story. Let’s see how Afreen tackles Shahvaiz’s growing interest in her and all the problems she has to face at home.
