Introduction
Galaxy Racer (GXR) is the largest esports, gaming, and lifestyle company, encompassing markets in the Middle East, North Africa, North America, Southeast Asia (SEA), South Asia, and Europe. The UAE-based group announced an investment in Pakistan’s esports and gaming business in the autumn of 2021, ushering in “a new era of digital engagement” between Pakistan and the UAE.
The statement came after the Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA) gave the business permission to operate in Pakistan, a country with a youth population of more than 65%. Galaxy Racer, a portfolio company of Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Maktoum Private Office, made the announcement in connection with the start of Pakistan’s largest esports event, “Gamers Galaxy,” which took place from January 8 to 9 at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad.

Gamers Galaxy approached NGES, which has a reputation in the Pakistani Esports industry, about organizing this Grand Tournament in Islamabad. NGES managed all Esports activities, including the execution of online qualifiers and tournament broadcasting.
This was Pakistan’s largest Esports competition, with a hefty prize pool of 2 crores PKR. Many celebrities participated in the event to promote this effort and the Pakistani Esports ecosystem. President Alvi was virtually present at the event, which was inaugurated by Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum. Shamoon Ismail performed a live concert at the end of the event. The tournament also featured renowned Esports athletes from throughout the country, including Esports player of the year and EVO champion Arslan Ash.
Ten Sports was the event’s official media partner, and several other news outlets also covered it. Pakistan aspires to penetrate the $300 billion+ global gaming business with more such new collaborations. The government is keen to expand the industry, provide a platform for young people to demonstrate their skills at international events, and encourage them to turn their passion into a career.
