In an era where women empowerment is the need of the hour, Big Bang Entertainment chose to bring light to it through their drama Cheekh. Presenting the brilliant actress and performer, Saba Qamar as Mannat, along with Emmad Irfani as Shayan, and Bilal Abbas Khan as Wajih, ARY Digital’s Cheekh has spread fire to the online world, with its breathtaking latest episode.

Week by week Cheekh has kept us engrossed and stuck to our TV screens, and now that it’s moving towards its conclusion, the serial is getting intense on another level.

To sum up the latest episode in one word: it was SHOCKING!

The bullet shot by Shayaan at the end of the previous episode turned out to be just a ruse – a blackmail for his brothers to force them to stop the mental torture they were inducing on his wife, Mannat. The idea worked and Yawar, who was unaware of the plan, slaps Wajih for this revolting tactic, which makes the latter even more vengeful towards Mannat.

Luckily for Shayaan, they get the stay order and Mannat gets to finally go home. We see the endearing way in which Shayaan takes care of his wife, who is on her way to recovery and we feel a little glimmer of hope for them. Shaayan and Mannat after many episodes get to share an enticing on screen chemistry where Emaad Irfani is again successfully portraying ultimate husband goals, standing by her side through thick and thin.

But this sliver of hope is short-lived. Wajih, the dreaded brother, shows up at Mannat’s house just to rile her up. Resultantly, Shayaan tries to throw him out of his house, and in the consequent squabble, Wajih finds a chance to push him onto a glass table….which shockingly turns deadly!

Yes – Shayaan is DEAD!

26 episodes down, and we finally see a glimpse of fear, guilt and pain in Wajih’s eyes, and this change in character has been perfectly adopted by the young gun Bilal Abbas Khan.

While Aijaz Aslam, who has been doing a phenomenal job with his role as Yawar nails it with his reactions to Wajih’s terror acts. From an angry brother to a broken one, we can finally feel a bit sorry for him.

Other than being shocked at Shayaan’s sudden passing, our hearts majorly went out for Mannat – the woman with nerves of steel, who stood against all the odds to seek justice for her best friend, and who has now lost each and every one dear to her in the process.

Will we expect to see her finally broken to the core after this critical trauma, or will this be the trigger point for the original, strong-headed Mannat’s comeback? We shall find out in the next episode.
